Jacob’s ladder is a smaller, mounded perennial with light blue flowers. It’s size and habit make it ideal for borders and walkways. Although it is tolerant of full shade it generally grows best in cooler parts of the garden with afternoon shade. Color and blooming tends to improve with moderate amounts of morning sun. Some varieties have been bred for increased tolerance to heat.
